It was so much fun, the students voted to continue until Friday, June 11!

What do you think of our winners?

How did you encourage your family to participate?

  1. Dear Gal(1st place), Ethan(Second place), and Trent(Third place),

I encouraged my family to comment by asking them to comment on which post I think they would like.

I showed them how to comment since they never commented before. Lastly, they ask me to see if their comment has punctuation, spelling, grammar, and capitalization.

    Best wishes,
    Kayla =)

  2. Dear Gal, Ethan, and Trent,

Congratulations to the three of you. I am encouraging my family to comment to our blog. I hope to be one of the winners this month. Do you have any tips that I can do?

  3. Dear Gal, Ethan and Trent,

Congratulations! 2KM was excited to read about the big announcement.

We were particularly excited because your wonderful teacher, Mrs Yollis, gave us the idea to have a "May is Family Blogging Month" competition. So far Bianca is in the lead but it is close. We are getting many comments from students and family members.

I love the prize idea (might have to borrow that idea too). Gal, Ethan and Trent - what do you think your posts will be about??

    From your friend,
    Miss McGeady

  6. @ Kayla,

What a nice comment to our winners! You had a lot of family comments as well. You have the right approach. Asking or inviting people to read the post and comment is so much better than telling people they have to comment.

You have a great method! First, you show them how to comment, then proofread for punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and grammar errors. Great advice, Kayla!

    @ Jollene,

Thanks for a terrific congratulatory comment. Read Kayla's comment for some great tips to help your family comment. Perhaps we'll get some good ideas from some other people too.

    @ Miss McGeady,

We had a very successful month! Having the whole family comment makes the conversations so interesting. Many family members are now regular readers and commenters! We like that!

Glad to hear you like the idea and are using it! I wonder what our winners will post about!

    @ AA,

Thanks for the big congratulations for our winners! I, too, enjoyed reading all the comments. Thanks for being a big part of our blog! We appreciate your support!

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Yollis

I like the idea of family blogging month because you get to read all the comments and who gets the most stars on the chart at the end of the month. Keep up the good comments because I like checking out your blog from your friend

We were so excited to see that our cousin won in first place for Family Blogging Month! We love her little crown that said first on it. Congratulations to everybody else you guys all did a fantastic job. Our cousin told us what she was going to write about in her post. We will only say that was on a trip to where we live, and you will need to read the post to figure out where she went there.

  12. Dear Jollene,

Here is a tip for you: ask your mom or dad to comment and then maybe they will get some relatives to comment. That's how I did it.

    Happy commenting,
